Reruns on Sci Fi Channel?

Has this revival show ever been re-ran on the Sci Fi Channel? They just play the 1959 version...

reply

NO they've never played this on Sci Fi and the CERTAINLY wouldn't do it now, what give up airspace for Deep Space Nine or some other SCI FI original crap... yeah right.

reply

yea, they havent been playing the original series anymore, but god forbid they miss one episode of the horrible xfiles!!

reply

This series is nearly impossible to syndicate because episodes followed no standardized time format like all new shows do. There were one or two episodes per hour show but the episodes were of variable length thus each entire hour program would have to be sold into syndication intact making this a difficult sell. I guess they could edit each series but what would you do with the ten minute episodes?

reply

Well - it's been done with Night Gallary - Night Gallary had 10 minute (some less than 10 minute) episodes.

Has this version of the Twilight Zone been released on DVD? If so, is it difficult to find? What about the 2001 remake?

reply

The '85 series begins airing daily on the Chiller network starting February 1st.

reply

Cool!! I thought I was seeing things when I was checking out Chillers future shows. I think they're also bringing back Monsters too :)

reply

there being shown on zone horror now in the uk about 5-6 pm.

TNT had the syndicated rights to the new "Twilight Zone" and aired it along with the original "Outer Limits" from 1997-2002; Sci Fi picked up the latter (of which they have recently let expire) and the former finally received a DVD release in 2004.

reply

The "original" Outer Limits is not from 1997. Try the early 60s.

What is this Chiller network you speak of???

reply

Hi rebelpilot-

The Chiller network is a 24 hour entertainment channel dedicated to the horror/thiller genre. As far as I know, you can only get this channel from DirecTV. This channel show old horror series episodes like Twin Peaks, Millennium, Tales from the Darkside, The Twilight Zone(85 version), Friday the 13th: The Series, Freddy's Nightmares..etc.

They also show horror movies as well. In fact, there's going to be a movie marathon this coming monday featuring The Shining, Poltergeist, etc...

Sci Fi did show some of the 80's Twilight Zone a few years ago.
I have been recording it on Chiller recently and it pretty good.
Not iconic like the original, but some interesting episodes.
