official complete box set

Does anyone know why Universal is completely ignoring this show? I mean they released KnightRider and Airwolf. Is it because Universal was sued using Honda I believe? Or rights using Tangerine Dreams score? Its very interesting to find out.. Is there anyone from the show or even work for universal who could shed some light on this?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's a rights issue. Several episodes used knock-off versions of well known artists songs - the show must have had the rights for the television use of them, but maybe didn't get long term other media rights.
Damn shame this show got cancelled so soon - it was terrific. I'm watching my DVD's of it now (recorded from the tv) and while it had plenty of 80's cheese, it was also really, really cool. Better than Airwolf and miles ahead of Knight Rider.

It's a tender love song, very beautiful. {Whats it called?} Lick my love pump.

I think that's an exaggeration. Airwolf, more than Knight Rider, was a much better show than other featuring high-tech vehicles. It was well thought out, bit mature and entertaining. That is especially true for the first season and some percentage of season 2: season 3 just got dull with only few episodes being any good. Season 4 brought some its dignity back, but I think cast replacement was something fans couldn't stomach. Airwolf was supposed to be more about international-spy missions, but when it turned into a Knight Rider-like show, it just didn't stay the same.

That is not to say Street Hawk was bad, it was good in its own right, but come on, it was a little cheesy. One thing got irritating though, which was Jesse's hot head attitude toward Norman, they always seemed to be disagreeing during missions: which made me dislike Jesse time to time for disregarding how Norman felt on how to go about doing things. The bike was pretty awesome, though I personally think they could have beefed it up a bit: it was a bit too slim. The show had as wonderful of a theme as Airwolf.

I too feel sad that it didn't continue, although cheesy, it was fun and entertaining. I would have liked for it, and many other shows such as Manimal, Automan and Highwayman, to continue but I guess people were not that interested in high-tech vehicles anymore.

However, I wasn't aware that Street Hawk had music rights issue. Geez, I hope official release doesn't suffer due to this. I already feel a bit down with what happened to Werewolf Complete DVD set: it suffered the same problem.

I know what you mean about this show being terrific to watch! I remember this was one of my favorite shows to watch and it did not last very long at all. I did get to catch it on USA Network back in the late 80's or early 90's in reruns. I was so excited to see this being shown in reruns. I just happened to be changing channels when I stumbled upon the reruns but remember when it was on ABC back in 1985.

Ahem, I think I put that up first! Never mind, the more people who know the better - we've got to generate mass interest here. Fabulous Films really do listen to the fans - The Mysterious Cities of Gold set was proof of that!

The more, merrier!

I would of thought it would of gone on the universal label likes of knightrider Airwolf etc...

Yeah, I thought that too, very odd indeed! I guess Universal just don't see any point in releasing it. Boy, are they wrong. I got a bunch of buddies who whould snap this up is a second. I just hope and prey that Universal don't get greedy if they see a favourable response to the news and decide that they are going to release it instead.

Having said that, after the underwhelming treatment of Buck Rogers on DVD (not everyone's cup of tea I grant you) after classic Battlestar getting the royal treatment, I was pretty unimpressed with Universal's lacklusture attitude towards some of their other "cult" shows.

I reckon that we're in for a treat come 2010 with this DVD set! Come on Fab Films, get the rights to the read-a-long book and tape stories, toy ads, and the annuals - PDF files are easy on DVD!
