Some Guest Stars

I loved the show in the '80s and I saw a few episodes a few years ago and saw a very young George Clooney, Robert Baltram (from Star Trek Voyager) and Christopher Lloyd.

Does anyone else remember any of the guest stars which we might have seen later?

reply

I think Belinda Montgomery (who played Crockett's ex-wife in Miami Vice) starred in an episode as a successful writer.

reply

There was a guy from back to the future (the doctor) he was in the pilot episode

reply

yes Christopher Lloyd as stated above

Dennis Franz was in an episode, but all that info should be in the cast list by now, shouldn't it?

Also, people like Ann Turkel (professional guest star apparently -- KR, etc.) and Sybil Danning. Haven't seen all the eps yet, though.

David S. Cass Sr.

He played the Bodyguard of Simone Privera (Bianca Jagger) in "Unsinkable 453". This bodyguard knocked out Jesse on Privera´s plot.

Cass is a legandary stuntman who worked over 30 years in this business. He was a stunt double many times for some Greats, and his trademark is often a moustache.
He played also in two Episodes of "Knight Rider" and the Factory Guard in "Tron".

reply

Interesting, but he's hardly a "guest STAR". Stuntmen often play minor roles when the role is going to require that the character be killed or be involved in any situation that would require a stunt double. For those kinds of roles, studios can save a lot of money by hiring a stunt performer rather than casting the role and also hiring a stunt double for the actor.

reply

Ok, he is not that kind of STAR, but the only real stars were Lloyd, Clooney, Danning, and perhaps people like Ann Turkel or Charles Napier.

Cass is in Hollywood a "bigger" name as Mayf Natter ("Eric Gault") or Conrad Bachman, both also involved in "Unsikable 453". I thought to named him because he isn´t in the cast of this episode.

By the way: Why calls Episode 12 one time "The Asassin" and other time "Female of the Species".

Where do you guys come from? I am from Germany, all episodes have totally other names here, do you want to see?

reply

That's okay, it was worth mentioning. Another notable guest star was of course Dennis Franz, who I believe has already been mentioned. Don't know why #12 has two titles, but I'd be very interested to see the German titles for the episodes (in both German and English). Thanks! :)

reply

Ok, here the episodes: G = german title, T = translated

The pilot calls just "Street Hawk" like in english.

1) A second self; G = Der beste Freund, T = The best friend

2) The Adjuster; G = Joe Cannon kommt, T = Joe Cannon comes

3) Vegas Run; G = Die Kronzeugin, T = The chief witness

4) Dog eat dog; G = Der Mord auf Video, T = The murd on video(tape)

5) Fire on the wing; G = Brandstiftung, T = Arson

6) Chinatown Memories; G = Alte Zeiten werden wach, T = Old times awake

7) Unsinkable 453; G = Der Doppelgänger, T = The look-alike (doubel)

8) Hot Targets; G = Tödlicher Waffenschmuggel; T = Deadly gun-running

9) Murder is a Novel Idea; G = Schriftsteller leben gefährlich; T = Author/Writer live dangerous

10) The Arabian, G = Das arabische Vollblut, T = The arabian thoroughbred

11) The Assassin; G = Das falsche Opfer, T = The wrong sacrifice

12) Follow the yellow gold road; G = Goldraub, T = Goldrobbery

You see, all episodes have an other meaning here. How do you like the names? My favorite episode is Unsinkable 453, i have it in english, german and spanish.
The spanish version calls "El Insumbergible 453", i asking me why they change it in "The look-alike" or "The double" in Germany. I think because of Eric Gault, this William Blandon was his look-alike/double.
Do you say in english look-alike or double?

Take Care

reply

Thanks for the titles, they're great! I'll try to mention them in the PDTV project "Street Hawk Vol. 2". You're right about "453", the thing about the prisoner switch was the central point of the story. Here, "look-alike" and "double" are both used, but I guess it would depend on the situation. We use "lookalike" for stuff like people who look like celebrities, but for someone who is employed to impersonate another person due to physical resemblance, "double" would probably be more appropriate. That's especially true in the case of William Blandon, who I think underwent plastic surgery to look like Gault, or perhaps I'm thinking of a different show.

reply

Some of those translations are a bit off, but the sacrifice one really hurts.

11) The Assassin; G = Das falsche Opfer, T = The wrong sacrifice

Im Zusammenhang der Folge ist die korrekte Übersetzung "The Wrong Victim".

Wo ich schon dabei bin, die meisten Amerikaner verstehen "Doppelganger".

reply

James Avery ('Uncle Phil' from Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) appears in the Pilot episode as Councilman Waters.

reply

Robert Beltran is very sexy in it.
