Did anyone else notice?
I'm curious, did anyone else notice, and think it odd, that in both episodes ("Digital Love", and "More About LES") featuring L.E.S. (logic and emotions simulator), Ted, a computer / robotics expert, is handling LES's state-of-the-art circuit board so carelessly? Even novice computer users know that it's a HUGE "no-no" to put your fingers all over a board, and it's chips, much less transport it unprotected in a brief case, only to pull it out without grounding yourself prior to, and while handling it. I venture to guess that after the way Ted handled the board, it probably would have failed to some degree. If viewed in the context of the show, Ted's carelessness could be used to explain LES's unpredicted, if not undesirable performance. Just a thought. God, I love this show!
Also, Tiffany Brissette routinely did an absolutely spectacular job of staying in character throughout the series. However, I did notice that in what happens to be one of my favorite episodes, she falters for just one second. In the episode, "Robositter", when Jamie, and Vicki are sitting on the couch watching a music video, Vicki slowly sits up off the couch, and starts dancing to the music. If you watch closely, (at 15 min, 53 sec. into the episode) you can see Tiffany crack a huge smile in immediate response to the audience's cheering...and then, in a second, it's gone. I guess she just couldn't help it. After all, it wasn't often the audience reacted to her like that! After such a profound, positive reaction from the audience, I'm surprised, and actually a bit disappointed, that the producers didn't run with the idea of having Vicki learn to dance as a means of perfecting the illusion of her being human.
Every time I see the "Robositter" episode, and although it's one of my favorites, I wish to myself that they had done more with it. More specifically, I wish they had done more with the idea that Vicki could dance so well, that people still couldn't tell she was a robot while she did something so complicated as dancing well. I always wished that Vicki would bust out with some seriously bad-a$$ breakdancing, and popping. It's too bad the producers didn't give Tiffany a choreographer who could teach her some competition level breaking. That could have been one of her gimmicks that really would have put this show over the top. Imagine an episode in which for whatever reason, Vicki engages in some friendly battles with the local breakers...and WINS! Big boom boxes pumpin' out 80's break-beats, sheets of cardboard, and Vicki...sounds pretty kick-a$$ to me!
