So I know they told people that they adopted her or whatever but did anyone ever ask why she wore the same dress every day ? I was really young when this show aired so I don't really remember it to much but I was just now thinking about that...I know it's kinda stupid but seriously why didn't they ever put her in other clothes
There was actually a handful of episodes where Vicki wore other clothes, especially in the later ones. I have wondered myself why no one said to Vicki, "Hey, didn't you wear that yesterday? And the day before that?" One of the many oddities of that show.

at first she was just around the house and the brindels knew about her from being nosey. they tipped off child welfare so the lawson's pretended she was a cousin and adpoted her. they dressed jamie like vicki to fool the medical exam. After that she wore the dress for awhile but then started wearing other things. She was more stylish as vanessa.
There was an ep where she and Harriet swap clothes; wouldn't Harriet have noticed the ports and panels on Vicki's back etc?
