Dreams about Vicki the Robot

Has anyone here besides me had dreams about Vicki the Robot? I had such dreams nearly every night when I watched reruns of Small Wonder as a child. I still have such dreams sometimes, and I love it. "She's a smaaaaaaaaaall wonder..."

In the mid-1980's several people wrote the creators of "Small Wonder" with the same problem. Vicki was appearing in their dreams on a nightly basis. In some dreams she was nice and funny, but in many she was an evil robot with harmful intentions. There were several magazine articles about this and a best-selling book, "Dreaming of Vicki" by Dr. Gerry Hamm. Many people sought professional help to rid their dreams of Vicki the Robot, some did not and eventually forgot about the T.V. show or committed suicide.

It's not a problem for me. I love having such dreams. BTW, I searched for "Dreaming of Vicki" on Amazon, but couldn't find it. Is it out of print or something? I'd love to check it out.

I've only had one dream about this show that I know of. It was a couple of years ago. Jamie was Jewish or something, and the set was the house set from the later seasons of Webster. And Vicki was flying around.

This was one of my favorite shows.

At the time I was a few years older than Vicki and fantasized about her as the show was near the end of its airing because she was becoming a very beautiful teenager you know. I have not seen this show in ages! She was very beautiful Vicki was!

She scared me, especially one episode where she made her head do a 360 like Linda Blair on The Exorcist

I had NIGHTMARES, her and I were playing and someone came up to her, opened her back to fix her, and then some weird ooze came out and she died! *shivers*

A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti.

I'm dissappointed that she didn't stay in Television.
I'd like to see her now a days.

Maybe in a "Where are they now?" show.

"Any last words, punk?"
"Yeah, your wife is good in bed."
"So, you're a liar, too?"

I am surprised that she was not on VH1 Kid Stars you know because a lot of the kids that became stars were from shows back when they were young and all. I too even fantasized about her because when she started to develope before the show was canceled she was starting to look pretty nice you know.

I would have also have liked her to remain acting but possibly she could not get casted in roles because people might have thought that they would think of her as Viki the robot you know.

I am not sure. I am just guessing because Hollywood seems like a very fickle place. They do not tell you why you did not get the role. I have seen it and heard it many times if you are too short for the role then they will not consider you for the part, too tall that is another reason, too skinny, a little over weight, and much more as well.

It would have been great to see her possibly remain acting and grow up in front of the camera like Alyssa Milano did and Soliel Moon Frye as well did or like many other actors as well.

I think she was my first crush as a little boy!

She was very beautiful! I somewhat wonder what they would have done with the show as Jaime started to develop hormones and she was attending school with him the last few seasons.

Would all of the other guys in the classroom been looking at Viki in a certain way due to their hormones? That is what I wonder and if she went out on a date with them that would have been comical to see how she acted as a robot going out on her first date.

When I was a kid I would have dreams about her. I liked her a lot as a kid.

I once dreamt I saw Vicki make a crossover appearance on "Growing Pains". With the [Seaver] parents gone Mike invited Vicki to the house to Carol's chagrin. Vicki made one mess after another and carried Carol-who never identified the robot by her name, just "robot"-out of the house and threw Carol in a trash can. I would've loved to see a Small Wonder-Growing Pains crossover.

When I was in Kindergarten and Grade 1, back when this show was airing, I had dreams about Vicki. Seeing a child robot was new, and completely unique at that time, thanks to this thread I found out nearly 30 years later that others had dreams about her too.

It didn't help that there was someone in my class at school who actually resembled Vicki the Robot.
