How the hell did David know Karl's password?

He watched him type it in.

Why was Karl's password "freedom"? Seemed like a missed opportunity for a joke passowrd (like "susansboobs" or something.)

Yes! I probably miss bits due to watching it on my laptop on 5 On Demand, which is not a very good iplayer and constantly freezes and buffers :(

My DVR often cuts off the last 5 seconds. Very irritating and sometimes critical.
