David, Leo and Jacka

One of them is meant to be gay, as Aaron is interested in Leo, Amy in David, so what is the bet that Leo is straight and David is gay?

I just hope we don't see Amy falling for Leo unless he changes his attitude, because he is quite the jerk and made a terrible first impression on Amy. And of course Aaron and David will get together as they are the only gays in the show and by the soap law, they must be together.

How on earth can Jacka get bail? His has a criminal history and now two people are dead, many would have been injured, yet he gets bail... because they decided they couldn't be bothered to hire another gangster baddie and just reused Jacka?

Surely not, one smile and Aaron falls for someone would be stupid if they switch it round and I agree after the first impression Leo made surely Amy would stay well clear.

More new characters with secrets why can't we just have someone move to the area and just be normal with nothing to hide rather than act dodgy.

I agree surely he wouldn't get bail just cause his mam was ill after what he's done.

Another poor punishment for me for Xanthe she lied and took off across the country and gets a few chores to do as punishment.

Even though their scene was short, I did like David and Amy, so I hope I am wrong.

Yeah, why another secret? But it can't be anything terribly bad if they are 2 new characters. And where are they going to live?

They really should have just hired another character to play that woman's husband.

I forgot to mention Xanthe, I was in a rush when I made my post. I completely agree, when I was watching the episode I was waiting for Gary and Sheila to say, 'actually' this is going to happen and really give her a heavy punishment, instead pretty much nothing. That'll teach her(!)

Yeah it can't be bad they will build it up then be nothing. I was thinking the same must be going to be outside Ramsay Street no space there for them. Surely not the motel which is the only other place we have now Paul's apartment is strangely Terese's office.

I agree not even a lecture or anything it winds me up how the teens do what they want and never really get punished. No wonder they haven't learned their lesson.

It is a light punishment, but I think Gary and Sheila were out of order in the storyline too. I'm kinda on Xanthe's side.I was annoyed het Mum didn't approach her.

It's seriously a parade of gays who seem to come into the show now - and look I have no problems with gay people. I have plenty of friends who are, it's just there seems to be like this thing where there can only be one main gay and then a gay maybe main, in the show at any one time.
It's like they are destined to be with one another!!

It's a bit annoying. I'd be interested in seeing some other gay characters, male and female, just as part of things.

I think her mum's coming into it more later - one of the previews has her (Brooke) in a scene with Gary. Maybe seeing Xanthe was the catalyst to send her to Erinsborough.

That's what confuses me, Chris' constant slew of conquests would imply a high LGBT populace, which means there should be more LGBT regulars. The set up always seems contradictory to me. Also, two gay people who don't fall for each other, like you say.

Have they done transgender storyline? That could be interesting.

Even if we were to presume the 10% statistic (which I think has been disproved anyway), you would think that there would be a few more. It would be nice to see a couple of gay characters who have offscreen partners, or aren't in relationships, at least temporarily.

No, they haven't. It really could. There's one on The Bold & The Beautiful that's really being done well.

10% would be about 3 characters...Is there 30 mains/regular repeats on the show.

There was a M to F one on Coronation Street over here for years.That was done well too.

After yesterday I'm pretty sure Leo is straight.

I don't think there are that many so maybe three (including Steph as bi) is even pushing it?

I think M to F must be the way they tend to be written.

I'm sure Leo is. And he and Amy are cute. I'm hoping he's her post-Kyle guy.

I think David is the gay one. I hope so. But of course re: David and Aaron.

It's been explained his mum is sick, but Regan said he hates his mum, so it's clearly nothing but an excuse. I do kind of prefer that it is Jacka, though. At least it's not a random character but someone we know and loathe, plus it makes the Regan and Ned stuff a bit more interesting than not.

I think we are to assume not. Despite how unrealistic that seems. I can't remember a storyline alluding to it.

I think so too. I've heard of non criminal members of gangs, though, so it's possible, if unrealistic. Like they know what's going on but aren't part of it. Plausible deniability.

I just think Steph is the type to get embroiled in a cover up, due to warped loyalties, but I can buy that she is innocent too, she's not a bad person.

I could definitely see that, she's even quite loyal to Jacka considering everything he's done. But I can see that. She definitely isn't a bad person.
