Tonight's preview/ episose

No Adam consequences stuff for next week?

I missed all the Adam stuff, as I wasn't viewing at the time, what's the deal? Is Dan Libby's ex? Who was Ben's Dad? Sorry I was on a 13 year hiatus.

Jack having a pop at Paige in the previews?!?!?! Grrr!!! Such a prick!!

I'm looking forward to Sky Fall week. I hope it lives up to the hype in my head. This is the last big thing before Dee's return and the end of year finale, I assume.

I would be surprised if they do no more with Adam, what's the point in bringing him back for nothing? Dan very easily agreed to the meeting and it seems like he has been very open and honest to Adam about his mum.

Dan is Libby's ex, they couldn't have a baby together, so Susan tried being a surrogate but she lost the baby, then Dan slept with Steph, Libby's best friend, and the world blew up. Steph gave Adam to Dan because she was suffering from PND and then killed Ringo and went to jail.

Ben's father is Drew Kirk who died in a accident when Ben was a baby.

The first one sounds like it will be played as Dee rises from the water still in her wedding dress, then walks out of the water, finds her way up the cliff, then down the road, road after road after road, until she reaches Ramsey Street where she will approach the door and knock, Toadie will answer and then the music stops!

Oooh I like that.

Beats a memory loss storyline. Dee was just at the bottom of the sea waiting for her return.

Has a kind of Terminator vibe to me. I always loved the idea btw of TERMINATOR 3 being Linda Hamilton as the Terminatrix!

reply

They've not done a mermaid storyline before.

I can't really see it. Was Dan also the guy who testified for Steph in the case with Charlie back a few months? I know there was someone from the past who came in for an episode and I think it was Dan, but it's been long enough that I'm not sure.

Thanks for that - I actually didn't know Libby had remarried/re-relationshipped after Drew. I remember Drew. Ben looks very like a mix of him and Libby, actually, good casting.

reply

That was Lucas, Dan's brother, the same guy that was with Adam today. The actor is a director for the show that's why he can sometimes pop back in for random episodes as he still works there.

Dan hasn't been back on screen since he left, he was even given Adam off screen.

Dan Fitzgerald http://www.perfectblend.net/neighbourhood/bio/fitzgerald-daniel.htm

Lucas' son is also the one that Steph kidnapped during her mental breakdown when she thought that Patrick was Adam, which is why Lucas helping Steph is a big deal as he believes she has gotten better.

Actually he was given Adam on screen. But what happened was, or so I remember hearing somewhere, it was shot around the same time as he was leaving. Similar thing happened to Georgia with Kyle.

reply

I actually did mean Lucas, thank you for figuring out my ramble. I got confused who was actually the father for a bit there.

Ah yes, I've seen something mentioned about him before.

Oh! That's right, I remember them talking about it when he was on before.

Also Adam is very cute.

I know that actor who played Dan... oh, he's on the US show Mistresses. I had no idea he was in Neighbours, though I did know he was Australian.

reply

Good grief. I'm in shock and feel stupid LOL. I was a fan of Dan and his relationship with Libby (until they ruined it) and I've seen all four seasons of Mistresses. I had absolutely no idea that Harry was Dan. Even the name Brett Tucker didn't register with me. Brain freeze LOL

reply

I've had that happen before. But yes, I'm sure I looked him up to see if he'd been in anything I'd seen, but at the time I wasn't watching Neighbours, so I'd have just skimmed past it.

reply

Yes, after I read what you said, I checked the Mistresses site on IMDB because I couldn't believe it and it was Dan. What's worst is I knew his character Harry was Australian and I was trying to think if he'd been in an Australian show and it still didn't click it was Dan. I won't live that down LOL

reply

Ah well.

I once watched an entire movie (unable to recognise someone I'd watched in a TV episode two days before - because their hair was different colours. But only blonde and brunette. It was so weird. It was Zooey Deschanel and she does not look that different blonde but it really threw me.

Cheers Reo.

I think it's supposed to lead up to Steph deciding to have a baby.

Though I'm also wondering how Steph ends up in hospital (that's where she's shown to agree to having the baby) if she wasn't in the balloon, now.

I wasn't viewing either, so thanks for asking, I do remember Drew (Ben's dad), he was hot.

Um do you mean his having sex with her or something else?

I remember a few years ago there were like balloon crashes on the news every couple of weeks for a while - while until then it had never been a huge thing.

Always thought this storyline could have been much more tense. If they were going to bring Lib back, (although apparently she DOESN'T want to come back? I have no idea, whatever), that would have been the perfect time for Adam for me. A three hander episode again, I think. Libby and Steph go up to Dan's to meet Adam, and they're both confronting things that have happened to them in the past. I have never in the history of the whole show before, SORELY felt Libby's absence. Dee, Steph, Elly, Ben, EVERYTHING. She really should be back.

I have to wonder what her reaction's going to be when she hears Dee's back! As if, in real life, that wouldn't make you come back.

reply

It would be interesting if she could come back. Unfortunately I think this is the nature of soaps, where people you would think would be around aren't because of the nature of actors leaving and contracts and so on.
