Really nice moment (Mark, Steph, Aaron)

I really liked the moment when Aaron talked about being a father tonight. He may have his moments, but Matt Wilson really brings the acting sometimes. If we compare him to Michael Crawford, more a Phantom moment than a Frank one? 

reply

He's been way less bothersome than Jack and Paige lately :-)

so far enjoying the surgoacy storyline and i guess I'm ok with the new paper/Tim slaming them but i swear if Jack starts getting all high and mighty about the subject it will ruin what been one of the show stronger plot lines of lately. Aaron mentiong kids was interesting wonder if same sex couple trying have a baby be storyline one day. They kinda dip the toe in subject with Chris having a baby but that was with a female not two same sex couple having the baby together and pregnancy /birth happen off screen.

Catholic church are meant be aginiest same sex relationships right? (honestly asking not meaning offend anyondt) have we seen Jack and Aaron interact?

reply

Is gay marriage OK in Aus?
Not in a church, but is it legally recognised?

That's what I was wondering too, re Aaron and Jack. Even the pope is kinda chilled on this stuff, nowadays.

reply

It's a big political issue right now that it isn't, actually. And it doesn't look like changing soon. And I am very against it not being recognised.

reply

That's a shame. I knew Abbott, (Twat-bot) was against it, (in an crazed-evangelical kind of way, right??), but didn't know how Turnbull felt,(I don't have a nickname for him, as he is literally named after a turncoat and and stubborn, aggressive, stinky beast).

🐨Have you ever?...Ever felt like this?🐷

reply

I think so. I'm not actually sure Turnbull is fully against it in the same way, but it's the rest of parliament and other groups. Hah!

reply

He leads and represents people of that belief, though. So guilty by association in my book. To me, I really don't understand people's issue with it, other than bullsplat religious stuff. So I have very limited tolerance for those who are against it...That's where I start looking for subtext and hidden meanings.

reply

Very true. I honestly don't get the issue at all. I have to agree, there's no harm in it that I can truly see, so why are people so adamant about it?

reply

Jack did say something about it, but he wasn't entirely bad on it - just said it wasn't god's will if science had to be involved, and that's a fair thing to say for a priest.

I would like to see that with Aaron and someone, I think it would be interesting.

I think we've seen Jack and Aaron, but I'm not sure.

reply

I thought what he said was fine too. I don't agree, but he was passive enough about it.

Me too, a good guy.

Me neither, Jack certainly doesn't come across as overtly anti-gay, it would be interesting to see a church/Jack Vs Aaron/gay storyline though. It's probably too controversial, though.

🐨Have you ever?...Ever felt like this?🐷

reply

Yes. He didn't make it a big thing.

Definitely.

He doesn't come across that way at all. It would be interesting, but yes, too controversial.

reply

At the end of the day, he is a very devout catholic so a bit of non-liberal thinking is excusable.

Shame. It would get covered in a British soap, (in Corrie we actually have a gay-priest/vicar story), but I get the impression Aussie controls are a bit tighter??

🐨Have you ever?...Ever felt like this?🐷

reply

Yes, exactly. Though I would love to see some discussion about gay marriage on the show and they have Aaron so it'd be easy enough to slip into dialogue.

I think they might be a bit tighter?

reply

It should definitely be a storyline.

reply

I think so.

I also quite liked that we found out Mark's boss is gay (or possibly bi/pan) when she was talking with him about the IVF. Just casually mentioning it always seems a good thing.

reply

I agree. Like Callum's Jodie's Mums.

Now Trump is president equality is even more relevant.

reply

Oh that's good to know there've been more.

Very much so. I try not to talk politics but I am so disappointed.

reply

Yeah, it was done well.

Me too, post Trump's win & post Brexit, I can't discuss it without crying. I'm so angry & depressed by it all.

🐨Have you ever?...Ever felt like this?🐷

reply

That's good to know!

Definitely. I'm trying to believe it won't be as bad as predicted but still. Embargo on it from now.

reply

They don't worry me either (Simone, though, does).

reply

It was good dialogue.

reply

I just thought it was really nice to see it. And the way he said/acted it, it's clear he's thought of it, too.

reply

I agree. Well done Matt Wilson.

When he's good, he is really good (actually I'd say that for most of the cast).

There was also an interview with him where he said he'd like to see Aaron in a long term relationship as well, and I think that'd be good.
