Jack is getting more and more unlikeable by the minute. How can he justify Simone's actions like that? Especially when he comes across as very judgemental when it comes to Paige hanging out with other men

He doesn't come off that worldly at times, and it's definitely a writing/acting choice, because his H&A character wasn't like that beyond the usual daydreamer stuff you see generally. It would be rather sad, though, in RL.

I wonder if they don't get priests? I know our local one slightly - I do voluntary work at the charity shop associated with the church but the funny thing is, all the ladies I work with aren't Catholic either. It's just one of those things. But anyway, our priest is pretty clued in to things at least on passing acquaintance, and there are times Jack just seems... not, so it very likely is the writers not getting it.

That was the moment I became a supporter of Jack and Paige ending up together, honestly.
I think there is, like I said in another reply, I don't think the anti-church stuff is completely unintentional.
Paige has kinda redeemed herself for now

She very much has, I think. Hopefully Jack will as well. I think his being torn between being a father and a Father (couldn't resist!) would be a really good storyline in and of itself, really.

I really feel it could be. I also feel like her saying "I'm finally moving on with my life" was pretty clear foreshadowing. Plus the rest.

It might be dark, but a male rape storyline would be really interesting, whoever it was done with. I'm sure there've been women raped on the show (it's such a go-to storyline on soaps in general but I do try to judge each story individually), so I could see that. But yes, I get it.
Either way, I hope Paige doesn't keep it from him for too long. I'm not hoping she won't hide it a little, I'm sure she would out of confusion/anger/not being sure about anything herself in the beginning, but not for too long, I hope.
