Oh, please, enough already

Enough of Jack and Paige already, please. This story is so annoying. I actually like Jack, but, this is a terrible story for him and I've never been a big fan of Paige, but, this story is making her worst

I'm a fan of slow burn will they / won't they stories, but, this has gone on so long that I just don't care anymore and I don't see any way they could actually be together now

And if Paige is pregnant then it's going to be drawn out even more - and maybe drag Tyler and Piper down with it

reply

Well, she's definitely pregnant, so it's going to be drawn out. I have the awful feeling she might claim Tyler's the father, which I really, really, really don't want to see - aside from anything else it's a little too close to VJ and Billie on H&A. I'd rather she just tell Jack yes, it's his (which I knew it would be once they showed Paige and Jack's sex scene in the "Previously" part - why else remind us that it happened).

I could see the pregnancy being what brings them together, with Paige wondering if it is for the baby over her - it might work if they do it right? Maybe?

reply

Paige selpt with Tyler months ago like around time Elly rock up so July. she can't claim anyone else as the dad unless she went out and selpt with someone now and no way Tyler go there now he with Piper

on the bright side mothers rarely stay around so might be last we see of Paige

reply

I think mothers rarely staying around tends to be because the actress is pregnant in real life and I don't think that's the case with Olympia.

reply

surely that not reason for all of them like i know Amber aka Jenna was not pregnant in real life

i can think of about 4 mums who stayed

reply

Yes, but she left voluntarily/end of contract, right? If it's that for Olympia maybe but I doubt it otherwise.

reply

I'd say it's more because when the character has the baby they're limited story-line wise so it's just easier to write them out, for example Vanessa. The last two cast members to fall pregnant in real life were Eve Morey (Sonya) and Morgana O'Reilly (Naomi) but neither had pregnancy storylines written into their scripts.

I'm writing this signature in bold so people know it's a signature

reply

I don't know if they're necessarily limited but I do think there are laws about how long a baby (or child like Scarlett as Nell) can be on set, it may be related to that as well?

That's interesting! Especially with Sonya being pregnant now.

reply

only mums i can think of that stay over a year are top of my head

Libby
Lyin
Steph (who left not long after birth of second child)
Sonya
Cheryl

So I'm sticking to my hope of the end of Paige (she was a favorite at the start)

I completely agree with you and I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't like Paige. This priest thing is weird as well. It's a story that might have worked in the 1970, maybe, but in this day and age, guys like Jack don't become priests anymore.

Realistically speaking (and I live in a Catholic European country), young priests are often African or Latin American. It's completely nuts, but it's true.

Encouraging young men to join the priesthood (and to never have a wife and family) is a big problem. "Jack" doesn't exist in real life. So I can't relate to this story arc.

The only thing that rings true about him is the fact that he's the biggest hypocrite ever. I really dislike him for how he is.

reply

I've known a couple of young priests (Australian), but they are pretty rare. Most are my age (late 40s) but became priests when young, so maybe it was more common in my generation and Jack's a lot younger than I am.

I don't mind Paige but she has her moments I want to shake her.

I'm still convinced there's some anti-Church agenda going on with his story.

reply

I remember when I was about 20, a new priest started working in our village. He wasn't a priest, but a 'father' (there's a difference somehow, he had joined a convent where the brew beer or something - I live in Belgium). Anyway, he was 'young' at the time (mid thirties) and he drove a Harley Davidson :-) That's the last cool priest anyone has ever heard of, but he's 50 years old now. So he's not that young anymore.

These days... good luck finding volunteers. The Jack story line isn't very interesting for me, I don't care. He's a hypocrite for sleeping with a girl and than going back to being a priest, as if nothing ever happened.

I don't like the guy. The way he folds his hands, GAAAAAH!!!

And you're right, there's an anti-Church agenda playing as well. Don't know why though... Haven't we had something like this with a priest and Lyn, Susan and what's her name (Stingray's mom)???

Why not another type of priest, why a Catholic one??? Any type of priest would have complicated things, Paige not exactly being... pious or God fearing :-D

I want this story line to end badly for Jack.

reply

Stingray mum was Janelle Timmins but don't think she was involved if we thinking of the same story line

one with Tom Scully he was Joe brother Lyn brother in law and was a Catholic Priest

Lyn use have feeling for him back in the day and could of still did and he came to town and fell in love with Susan and left the Priesthood for her left Lyn all angry and jealous. Izzy had confessed to him that Karl not her baby father not knowing who he was at the time so at lease that gave the story line another angle no longer being a Priest but knowing that he "girlfriend" ex husband was not really father of the baby

wish Susan had mention something to Paige about her past with Tom

reply

mark and paige should just reunite
