From the sublime... to a toilet plunger?

I really wanted to like this episode as much as last night. The Dee scenes, obviously I liked those, and more curious than ever. I wondered if they were hinting at 'Emily' in the first flashback with Dee when Toadie was dreaming about her.

It's a pain really, when you've got this big massive storyline, but you're going to be thinking where's everyone else, but then you have to cut away from THIS to Sheila trying to deal with blocked drains. Just... yeah...

reply

Seriously, did it have to be that? Couldn't they have just done a scene with her bartending or something less... icky? I mean, Gary was fine.

reply

It even would have been OK I think if it was Sheila talking about what was happening with Toadie and Dee, that it just came up in conversation in some way at least. I know it's all like happening in the same day or something though lol. Still, would have been nice for me if the whole week had had a bit of a "Dee theme" with everyone talking about it in some way, and Mark just talking about Kate, and even Paul with his wives! Talking with Terese! Brad could be thinking back to Beth and Terese too. There's a lot they could do with it. Although it's only Tuesday! Oh well.

Notice how Dee couldn't remember Elly and Tad? THOSE TWO names came up in rumours I read on a forum!!! But I just thought, "Nahhhh!" Now I'm like, Hmmmm!!!!

reply

to only focus on De for whole week might be over kill

what could have done was make last night a double episode and only focus on Dee. Having the meeting wiht Karl and Susan in the second part of it

I'm looking forward to Sonya and Dee talking one on one

reply

Yeah, that's it. Like the hotel explosion last year. That seemed to blend nicely with the rest of that week's episodes. Maybe this was over just a bit too soon? But also, if that makes it understated then I like that too!

reply

I think everyone talking about Dee, including those who didn't know her, might be a little much? I mean, I can see Paul discussing things with Steph (I'm sad he didn't know her, though). But it would've been nice. It is only Tuesday, and I'm sure more will be happening.

Oh I did notice that! Isn't Tad Madeleine's husband (in real life, I mean)? I thought that might have been a funny meta thing - she couldn't remember her RL husband. But Elly is intriguing, yes. Hmmm!

reply

Hehe close. Eve Morey who plays Sonya is married to Tad in real life and I think the actor actually works behind the scenes from time to time too? That means we could see him too?? I can't for the life of me figure out how Elly would be involved with this, besides Darcy that is!!

reply

Ah, I knew it was one of Toadie's wives! Just got which one it was confused. That is still really funny when I think about it. Oh does he? That would be great.

Elly seems to have a lot of secrets, though. It might even be somehow related to her running the guy over? I can't think exactly how, but it could be.

reply

Everything not pertaining to the Dee-theme will be like "yeah yeah sure, whatever, back to Dee!!!"

I thought it was weird as well that she wouldn't remember Tad and Elly... After that I thought, maybe she doesn't remember a single thing. Maybe it really is Dee, but she remembers nothing and found out about her previous life in one way or another, without remembering. Maybe she "studied" to be able to fake it to a degree.

But why? Maybe because there's an inheritance, she's the sole heir, money would be nice... But for that, she needs to become Dee again, although she remembers nothing....?

reply

That's very intriguing. And the perfume in the house...could have been Dee poking around trying to do research.

reply

Wasn't Elly only around for 6 weeks first time? I barely even remember her yet the way they speak its like she lived there for years. Even Lou was like, oh! I remember Elly Conway as if she was a major character ( or neighbour in his case).

reply

elly was in the show from 13 December 2001, until her departure in May 2002.

reply

I know :-) I can't remember her at all. Well... vaguely. So I can imagine Dee doesn't have any recollection of her.
Not remembering Tad is weirder.

reply

I only remember her vaguely myself. Also this was just before Susan's amnesia, which is one of my favourite Susan storylines ever.

reply

Seriously, if I would suffer from amnesia every time I bump my head (like so many Neighbours characters), I would have forgotten all about Neighbours a very long time ago :-)
