The Soundtrack

I have the official soundtrack, and it's great. I bought it for the songs from "The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice." There's only 10 songs the album, and I can't even remember which episodes some of them are from. This got me thinking; which songs do you wish were on the official soundtrack.

I know this probably won't happen, but if they were to do a special 30th edition of the soundtrack, which songs would you want included?

I would love to have David's version of "My Girl," "What's Your Name," "Money (That's What I Want)," and the Ronnette's "Be My Baby."

"Forget reality, give me a picture"-Remington Steele

All I know is the opening theme song is one of the best in TV history. Jurreau nails the mood with his singing and especially the lyrics. No matter how often I watch the show on dvd I never skip the opening.

I always listen to the credits too. I wish more newer shows would take the time to create more original theme songs.

I had this soundtrack on cassette tape back during the show's run. I'm sure with the rest of my cassette tapes, it ended up in a trash heap somewhere.

But I do remember thinking "how come the Billy Joel song 'Big Man on Mulberry Street' isn't on here? Where is the Ronnettes' 'Be My Baby?'"

Off the top of my head, there were lots of great tracks from the show that should be included:

The Temptations' "Papa Was a Rolling Stone"
Janet Jackson's "Nasty"
Richie Valens "La Bamba"

I also think all show soundtracks are improved by including bits of the show as filler in-between the tracks.

Oh please.."If only you knew" Maddie dancing with Richard. That song has haunted me for 3 decades.
