A.V. Club highlights 10 great Moonlighting episodes

The AV Club has been hitting some of my favorite cultural touchstones recently. Yesterday it was a dissection of the most excellent series stand-out "House" episode "Three Stories." Today it is commentary on the 10 most series defining episodes of "Moonlighting."

While I can't disagree with any of the episodes selected, I would have to add a few more of my favorites:

"Gunfight at the So-So Corral"
"The Next Murder You Hear"
"The Son Also Rises"
"Twas the Episode Before Christmas"
"It's a Wonderful Job"
"My Fair David"
"Symphony in Knocked Flat"
"Plastic Fantastic Lovers"

It was often a frustrating show to watch, but when it was really firing on all cylinders, there was nothing better.

My husband and I were newlyweds in 1985 and this is the first TV show we "shared", I'm so disappointed that it hasn't been shown in reruns on TV. I wish TVLAND or a similar station would pick it up. Bruce Willis was perfect in his role.

My husband had never seen it, so I ordered it on Netflix. Hubby likes Bruce Willis, and I got to quietly swoon! Okay -- drool. But it really is amazing how well it's held up over the years!

The author talks about "“A Womb With A View” (season five, episode one)" and says...

"The plot about a baby so disturbed by his parents fighting and the evils of the world that he tries to make his mother miscarry him..."

I don't remember the baby trying to make Maddie miscarry him. I really don't want to have to go back and watch that episode so I thought I'd just ask here.

Is the author right?? What do I not remember?

I'm not sure I would have explained it quite like the author but, yes, the scene features "Jerome" showing the various ways of the world to the baby including a scene of all the worst things that have happened (nuclear detonations, holocaust, famine, war, etc.) The baby freaks and expresses a desire to not enter such a world. By the end of the episode it's clear that Maddie had a miscarriage.

But, like you, I can't remember if there is another scene in between the expressing a desire to not be born and Maddie actually miscarrying. I don't have strong desire to look it up at this point. :-)
