What a freaking waste...

After being a diamond in the rough of a series for two seasons Moonlighting becomes a lame soap opera in the third season, COMPLETELY changing the direction and the subject matter. It's like two completely different shows!

I was so disappointed watching. I'd give the first two seasons 9/10 and all the rest - 3/10, if not less. Gosh, I've learned to hate Maddie.

Agree. They strayed from the TV noir format in the first two seasons and went to personal story lines such as David's father's wedding and David's ex-wife's brother dies and Maddie's "friend" Sam shows up, etc. Actually solving investigations was put on the back burner. It's like no one considered that personal story lines could run concurrently with investigations.

All the gimmicks they employed were a bit much too. Constantly breaking the fourth wall and the man on the street interviews about the previous week's show were just running the clock out.

The will they, won't they sexual tension and chemistry went out the window when they did the deed. And then the whole baby drama. They started to find their groove again in the final season but by then they had already lost so many viewers it was too late.
