King Igthorn contreversy

I know that this isn't true, but if Gummi Bears was still airing, the series finale would be a problem. I think the 2 part finale "King Igthorn," is somewhat contreversial due to September 11th. They both deal with destruction. The destruction of Gummi Glen would make people think of the World Trade Center destruction because the glen is going down by the termite's eating. Also, the attack on Dunwyn could cause people to think of the Pentagon being attacked. Not to mention Sunni's reaction to losing Gummi Glen would be like an American mourning the loss of a loved one in the attacks. But since I bought this on DVD, I have decided to not play the series finale in respect of what happened on 9/11. What are your reactions?

It's a freaking cartoon that was made over 15 years before 9/11. You are looking too deep into this.

No, What I am saying is if the show was still on Toon Disney in 2005. Think of the other cartoons that had various episodes taken away because of this tragedy. Doesn't the "Rocko's Modern Life" episode "Jet Scream" ring a bell?

I totally agree with sweetguy. There are a million movies and TV shows that you can somehow relate to 9/11, but so what? Its a tragedy, but there is no since in ignoring it. I mean Pearl Harbor was just as bad as 9/11, and they made freaking movies based on the actual event!!

Here is another reason why I don't watch this episode: Hurricane Katrina

In Part 1, Gummi Glen is destroyed and Igthorn dethrones Gregor.

In Part 2, Igthorn is defeated and the Gummies move in with the Barbics.

Personally, what happens here basically sounds like what happens with most stories- they decide to shake things up and move the characters around:

Cases in point:

Transformers-Autobot City is destroyed and almost all the original cast dies, we then relocate the adventures and have new characters.

Inspector Gadget-Gadget, Penny and Brain move out of their little one-story ranch house to what is dubbed 'The Gadget House.'

Pinky and the Brain- The Acme Labs burns down and Elmyra relocates the two lab mice to her home.

It's a standard cartoon idea.

A-ha-ha-ha, you're really weird!-Willy Wonka

My DVD set only has the first three seasons. Where are you getting the ones with the last three?
