Horrible DVD transfer

Excited to get the DVD and when I pop it into my DVD player the transfer looks worse than VHS with crazy artifacts and blocky pixelation. Horribly Dissapointing. You know that Disney will Remaster them but I know for a fact they could have authored the original sourcetape without all that macroblocking. I propose that they purposely made this DVD as well as all the other TV dvd's like ducktales, rescue rangers, etc. be this terrible so they could re release them in 2 years with digital remastering and extras. I feel so cheated that they'd be this greedy.

Is it really that bad, and are the others bad too? Only I was planning on investing in Talespin, Darkwing Duck and Gummi Bears, but if they're all terrible I might just wait...

Another Disney DVD that was transfered badly was The Brave Little Toaster. While certain parts look good on the DVD, a majority of it is grainy, and the picture moves around quite a bit. It seems like Disney doesn't always give the best treatment to their products that aren't huge money makers.

Master of Puppets- one of the best albums of all time.

RIP Cliff Burton

Gummi Bears isn't THAT bad; it looks maybe a little better than my VHS tapes of it. They could have put in some effort at cleaning it up, but I still think it's worth it to buy the dvd set - it isn't horrible like the quality of a pirated movie or anything.

I agree with kathco. I also do not think Disney will be re-releasing this show again (unless it's on Blu-ray or advanced media down the road). For a while, I didn't think they'd ever release this show on DVD. For them to package the first half of the show at such an affordable price, you can't fault them for not making the quality perfect for what you're getting.

This show is old. What do you expect, Dolby Digital 6.1 and HDTV transfers?!
