Just a few minutes ago, I was reading a story on the internet called "Into the West," and it was about the Gummies returning to Gummi Glen and repairing it from Igthorn's termite. I was thinking Disney should make a made for TV movie about the Gummies returning. Here is my cast:
Corey Burton: Gruffi June Foray: Grammi Jim Cummings: Zummi Bill Murray: Tummi Katie Leigh: Sunni Noelle North: Cubbi, Princess Calla Rob Paulsen: Gusto Brian Cummings: Arte Deco R.J. Williams: Cavin Michael Rye: King Gregor
Sounds good, I hope that if they decide to do a follow-up series or sumhin' they don't make them computer animated or latest drawing style technique. Just try to stay true to the old style and voices. Now that would be a return to good old times with new stuff.
SO GET TO IT THEN DISNEY!!!!!!
Star Wars Crusader. "The Force: An elegant weapon for more civilized sentients"
It WILL be? Or it SHOULD be, if it's made at all? ;)
In any case, I dont disagree in the slightest with those sentiments. Did the original poster say it should be in 3D, or something? Because I sure didn't. Anyhoo...
"No Gummi movies please, unless they are animated in the traditional style with the original voice cast"
I totally agree about the traditional animation! I wouldn't mind if the original voice cast was changed a bit though, as long as they sounded VERY close to the originals!
Especially since Lorenzo Music (Tummi) has died, and Michael Rye (Igthorn & King Gregor) is very old, and maybe isn't working anymore? But there are heaps of talented voice artists out there, so I'm sure they could match up the voices well enough that no one would notice. Though that one time Cavin was voiced by someone else was painfully obvious!
Ok, so everyone who did Cavin was perfectly fine EXCEPT that one guy! Heheh. I think it might have been David Faustino. I don't remember the specific episodes where I didn't like the voice, because it was the later ones, and I really only liked up to "Gummis at Sea", the one with the serpent Ship. Those are the episodes I know and love to death! From "A Gummi a Day Keeps the Doctor Away" I felt it went a bit downhill, IMHO.
Splash mountain is fine - as is the Matterhorn - but could you imagine a "Quick Tunnels" ride??? *grin* It would probably be similar to Space Mountain with more lighting...
As far as a movie - I think some day they WILL do one - this was one of the greatest Disney endeavours ever - and I remember wanting to see them so bad for years afterwards. Hopefully they WILL do one - and do an Animated one at that - with good voices for the characters.
Another thing that vexes me is that they underused the relationship between Cavin and Calla. If they make a movie I hope they put Unwin as a villain team up with Igthorn hoping to get Cavin out of the way.
