… Want to see Kala and Kavin get together? I had always wanted to see this happen, or at least have Kala’s dad make a reference along the lines of “I feel that one day you, Kavin, shall take my place.” Am I the only freak that had always wanted to see these two have a romantic relationship? I realize that this is geared to children, and that they don’t grasp the romantics, but all and the same, is there anyone else out there that sympathizes?

I always figured they would eventually get together, and that the show wanted us to know this without ever showing it (because they were too young, as were the viewers!). Cavin always seemed to have a crush on Calla (I just realised I spell them with C's and you with K's and I don't know which is right...but it doesn't matter) especially at the beginning when he always blushed around her, and said stuff like, "I'll be the most famous (strongest?) knight in Dunwyn, and Princess Calla will notice me."
I like to think Sunni would be Maid of honour one day at their wedding, and Cubbi the Best Man! Hehehee.
I'm a sucker for romance.
Never judge things by their appearance. Even carpet bags. I'm sure I never do.
I agree with the audience being too young, I just wondered if anyone else felt the same way … but the way Disney is going right now, I bet the sick freaks would have them get together in this day and age (if it were still on that is). But anyway, thanks for replying!

Sure, I always knew they were really fond of eachother. I have always believed think Cavin had a crush on Calla because she is a nice person and very pretty, not really because she was a princess. Calla really likes Cavin too, but I am not exactly certain to what extent.
My theory is that she both looks up to his bravery and hard-working personality (she dislikes being a princess at times because of the example she has to set for the people, usually not involving any fun for her) and she has a crush on him because he is a good guy and handsome.
But the the great chasm called rank or class really prevents them from having any love relationship, it is so great that they don't even try it in secret, a great example for this is the episode "A Gummi by another name" where princess Calla "abducts" Cavin from his duties in order to live like a peasant for one day.
Nothing really happens between them out in the woods. In fact, Cavin was really not enjoying this time with her (well, maybe a bit but not much).
Personally, I would've liked to see them kiss or one kiss the other on the cheek. If they had made it so in the series, they probably would've made it that Calla kisses Cavin on the cheek as a thanks/reward for something (a rescue?).
Now, let's say they did become a pair, how would it affect the surrounding world? King Gregor might get furious at Cavin, forbidding him to become a knight, and Calla might get grounded to the castle (gee, not much change there)
It is highly unlikely that Igthorn would ever find out and even if he did he likely wouldn't care, since he don't really know the boy so he can abduct him. And he certainly wouldn't kidnap Calla to get to Cavin.
The Gummi Bears would not think this to be a bad thing, they might even encourage it. If they noticed the "symptoms" before it happened they just might advice not to do it because of King Gregor, but otherwise they think it would be a wonderful thing.
How would the relationship last? I think there would be some friction between them as Calla seeks adventure while Cavin would TRY to protect her/keep her from going with him into danger, this would cause some sparks from Calla.
But with the audience in mind I think the episodes where this could've taken place they would always get back together in the end "Awwwww!"

I have to correct myself. In the episode "Ogre for a day" Cavin, with the help of Zummi, turns into an ogre and tries to find out what the Duke is up to. As it turns out he needs to save the King from being kidnapped and he saves him (when he got back to normal) and got rewarded back home by the King. While standing there and recieving the thanks from the King and Sir Tuxford, Tuxford says:
You've truly shown you have what it takes, lad.
Calla steps forward saying: He's got more Sir Tuxford. A then she kisses Cavin on the cheek.
So, she did kiss him after all. And what do you think she meant by "more"? Her love perhaps?
Thoughts?

Actually, nowadays, I don't care too much about the stories about the bears anymore. I much prefer the episodes focusing on the relationship between Calla and Cavin.
I also like the idea of the relationship between Calla and Cavin. About the user who mentioned Igthorn I believe that with that knowledege he would kidnap Cavin to get to Calla. About how the relationship would work there're a few fics showing that. When you stop to think about that, Calla was a previous Jasmine as she was already a tomboyish princess even before Disney made their version of Aladdin. I hope the series continues and the the Calla/Cavin romance is better developed.
Well, really, I didn't really start thinking about it until a year ago. But now, that's the only thing, that's still interesting to me about this show.
I think they were mostly friends even though Cavin liked her It would have been nice, but then again Disney have started making friends start to fall for eachother alot lately at least this is the only show i know of to not have done that and i think the story was best of like that.
Why not? I mean, it wouldn't be the first time a long-finished series is restarted. Have you never seen He-Man? And even if they don't restart the series they could make a movie. Lots of movies produced nowadays are based on old series.
