Characters within the series just seemed to come and go without much or any follow-up. I could never understand it and for many of the scenarios you would want to know what happened to certain characters.
How funny. I came to the GG board to make this very same point. I've always noticed how the girls always seem to go out with some great guys, but Rose is the only one with the boyfriend who followed through the series (well two boyfriends, one actor - I'll never get it. But...different thread). The other girls dated some great guys but once the episode was over, nothing was heard of them again. Even the relationships that didn't actually end. They just ceased to exist by the time the next episode aired.
shareThat is episodic television. The stories are there to show different aspects of the main characters through these character of the week people.
These shows came out in a time before the internet and season series being available on DVD. These shows were on once a week and *MIGHT* be repeated several months later. This made it difficult to keep up with these extra characters because if a character is shown in episode 4 and updated in episode 9 many people might not have seen episode 4 and would be confused as to who this character is that is being talked about.
I’m not referring to their dating. I’m referring to the daughters and sons, nephews, sisters, cousins who visited. The daughters changed based on the season .
