Biggest flop ever?

This lavishly produced series also boasted a cast that would make Irwin Allen salivate yet it was routinely in the bottom 10 shows for the duration of it's 2 season run. It won peoples choice awards and had a ferociously devoted cult of admirers but it never got the ratings it deserved opposite the NBC series which dominated the ratings at the time. Was "Dynasty II: The Colbys" the biggest flop ever aired?

It was probably the most expensive flop at that time. Not to mention a steaming pile of sh*t.

The Colbys was a far better show than what Dynasty was at the time. If I were going to name the biggest flop of all time, and certainly of the 1980s, I'd have to say Life with Lucy.

When The Colby's premiered in the Fall of 1985, prime time soaps were starting to decline. The show was well-done camp. But I guess it was just a case of Dynasty overload.

I preferred it to Dynasty at the time. In fact, when it was cancelled I even stopped watching Dynasty I was so mad. I was watching old reruns of Dynasty and was like "Sable was on Dynasty?!?!? When?" lol. I thought The Colbys had great storylines with great characters. Have to admit I loved Sable much more than Alexis at that point. When Sable was trying to stop Jason from going down to the poolhouse where she knew her homewrecker sister was with Philip I just loved her. I wish the Colbys would have kept going and Dynasty was cancelled instead and just bring Alexis over to the Colbys.
