Sable vs. Constance

I have to say that every scene between the two of them was great. It was just as good as Alexis vs. Krystal minus the cat fights. Too bad Barbara Stanwyck left the show. She hated the show and hated working with Charlton Heston. The only reason she took the job was because she thought the sets of Dynasty and The Colbys would be close together. She apparently was very close to Linda Evans and she thought she would see more of her. It's too bad. Season Two of the Colbys suffered because of her departure, though I still enjoyed it. Season one really needs to be on DVD.

That bossy Constance was always on my girl Sables' case. Her and that wishy washy passive aggressive Franchesca. Didn't Lady Franky go after Sable with a horsewhip? Ms Sable stopped her right in her tracks. This show was too much wicked fun!

great stuff. I hated Franky. She had no business going after Jason.

I've just finished watching Season 1 on CBS Drama here in the UK and my god what an amazing first season and yes the scenes between Sable & Connie were of the very best te show had to offer as they were by far the best best actors ont he show.

Its a shame Barbara left, wish she'd done Season 2.

And yes I too HATE Frankie, home wrecking b*tch

Maybe if Connie had explained to Sable that she wanted to make amends for past mistakes and bring the entire Colby clan together, it would have went better between them.

Really? I love reading about behind the scenes stuff like that.

If anyone has some articles or resources to look at, please post!

I haven't heard of her wanting to be close to Linda Evans, she was however, a personal friend of Aaron Spelling and even Tori Spelling's godmother.

I never heard that she hated working with Heston, but she did publicly complain about the writing on the series when she quit. She thought the dialogue and plots were very lame. A few seasons before The Colbys, Barbara starred in the popular mini-series, The Thorn Birds, as the scheming matriarch. Perhaps she thought Constance would be similar to her Thorn Birds role, but Constance was too nice.

I also read that she was CBS' first choice to play 'Angela' on Falcon Crest in 1981, but she waasn't interested in a weekly drama. The role went to her longtime friend, Jane Wyman.
