Marla Gibbs and Jackee Harry (Mary and Sandra) did not get along? I would think that given Jackee's eventual popularity and expanded episodes at the expense of the premise of the show would have caused problems between those two, as well as with Alaina Hall (Rose).

If you watch the extras on the first season dvd of 227, you will notice a few things. 1- Marla and Alaina are looking old and Jackee ain't lookin like she did back in Season 3. 2- They allgot along and Marla/Mary even said that she, as the producer, realized Jackee/Sandra was emerging as the main star. Usually in these types of ensembles, one of the minor characters comes in like a tsunami and steals all the scenes from the 'star'. Marla/Mary was just happy people were watching and she had a job. She still got top billing even though Jackee/Sandra was the breakout star. In the dvd interview, Marla and Jackee got along but I was hoping for a catfight over Jackee's Emmy win when the rest of the cast and show got nothing! I guess I will have to wait for Season 2!
