Help with film title

Years ago Channel Four (UK) used to show films like TTOHM but don’t seem to these days. Anyway, they once showed a gay film I would love to see again but cannot recall the title. All I remember is one part of the film in which our young hero joins with some GLB protestors in a nearby city and are effectively booted out, or at least put back on their hired coach to go home with their tails between their legs. On the coach going home one of them begins to sing a song, which they all take up until it becomes a rousing scene. Brought a tear to my eye. And the fact that one handsome guy in a suit had looks to die for – I would really like to see this film again. Anybody know the title?
