This doesn't happen often for me, but I didn't really enjoy this movie until the second time I watched. Anyone else have the same experience?

Yes. The first time I watched it (after hearing for years how great it was supposed to be) I felt it was just "above average" - some good laughs here and there, but not truly "great". I did enjoy the songs a lot from the first time onwards, though.

However, for some strange reason, the jokes just seem to become funnier and funnier the more I watch it. I can't really explain how...unless it has something to do with becoming more familiar with the characters over time? But yeah...I'm enjoying it more now than ever before. Oh, and the commentary track it equally hilarious! It's like having a second movie (or script) layered over the first one.
