Should the Terminator endoskeleton have been as clean looking?
I've always felt the endoskeleton should have some burnt material or ash stuck to it. Maybe I'm wrong.

shareI always though the same even when I first saw the movie back in '84....why wasn't it all burnt up with flesh hanging off it or at least blackened by soot?
shareRight. Smearing a little chimney soot on there wouldn't have hurt, but Cameron's ego probably demanded the endoskeleton be seen in all its glory. At least he had steam coming off it.
shareMaybe the material is designed so that everything on it just burns completely, or slides off easily, or.. well, I think they made the right choice, because that robotic endoskeleton is incredibly cool and well-designed, not to mention detailed.
"The Terminator (1984)" is the only movie where the endoskeleton looks right to me. Anywhere else I have seen it or some kind of replica, just looks somehow wrong in proportions. The jaw is a bit too clunky-looking, etc.
Exactly. Anywhere else, the head is too large, and the endo in its entirety looks bright chrome as opposed to dark, brushed metal in the original. Chrome coating just looks wrong, but they never stopped using it in sequels and tv series.
