James Horner Was the First Star Trek Movie Composer


To use the iconic opening fanfare from Alexander Courage's original 1960s television series theme.

For some reason, Jerry Goldsmith didn't use it in The Motion Picture.

So not only did James Horner compose some of the best Star Trek movie music ever, he is singly and solely responsible for reintroducing the theme that came to define the Star Trek movie franchise (as well as the Next Generation show to some extent).

James Horner was a genius, ST3 TSFS soundtrack is beautiful and epic. Definitely the best out of them all. RIP.
