I find that people tend to be way too harsh and unfair bashing both of these films that are much better then their many detractors say and don't get the respect they deserve...am I wrong on this?

shareNo way, and I am a Star Wars Guy. Star Trek 3 is better than Attack of The Droney Dialogs. Star Trek 3 unfortunately gets lumped with the 'odds' but its closer to 2,4, and 6 by far than 1 and 5 are.
shareWell, it was really just a way of getting Spock back into the franchise. The film was shot on the cheap, an angry producer changed the bad guys from Romulans to Klingons, and overall there was no real theme to the film.
Mediocre at best, just plain bad at worst. I think it's okay, but just barely okay, and not really a good Trek film as such.
I can shoot a better movie.
