A decent attempt at continuing the Genesis Project storyline

It was always going to be difficult to follow up on Wrath of Khan. Beloved and financially successful in relation to its budget, Search for Spock is a decent attempt at continuing the Genesis Project storyline, although it rarely fully rises to the occasion. For some reason, it feels smaller than Kahn even though the stakes are technically bigger, what with a complete planet changing so quickly it will soon explode and Klingons mixed in for good measure. Part of the issue stems from the fact that, when David and Saavik are on Genesis, there isn’t much for them to do other than pick up readings and try to babysit Spock http://www.cutprintfilm.com/features/star-trek-retrospective/
