enjoyed movie
I recall partially watching this film in HS. I also read Mary's book a few years ago. I think she passed away not to long ago.
I had no idea nuns, and possibly priests as well could not visit their family or attend funerals prior to Vactican II
In addition, Mary had a nice apartment, considering she lived on a former nun's income. I am assuming her family aided her with expenses. In addition, I assume the apartment was rent controlled since I think the setting was NY. Maybe the church owned the building.
Is the Washburn Community Center still around? Has anyone ever been taught by the order Sisters of Blessing?
