I pretty much already knew by looking at the poster that this was gonna be a fun ride. You gotta love cheesy looking 5 headed slime worm-monsters with thousands of sharp teeth.

Two campers in the New Jersey woods have their outdoor fun interrupted by the arrival of a meteorite crashing nearby. They go to investigate the crater, but are suddenly attacked and devoured by alien parasites who have hitched a ride to Earth. After finishing off the campers, the hungry space monsters head for a nearby town, where they make their domain in the basement of an old house soon begin polishing off one hapless inhabitant after another. Four young teenagers, plus one pre-teen boy, try to find a way to stop the angry space monsters before they reproduce and literally eat humanity.

The Deadly Spawn is an awesome piece of low-budget filmmaking. It starts a bit poor as the first 3 kills were rather dumb looking and almost fully off-screen. Luckily enough the fourth kill is on-screen and delivers a good bunch of gore. The monster are shown for the first time in that scene to. They look simply amazing. The five headed monsters have an eerie similarity with Ron Jeremy's dick and only stand for one thing and one thing only: PURE CHEESE! Not only mother-monster creates some nice gore. Her little monster babies do some good looking damage of their own to.

It's a shame the characters are a bit dorky, except for the cute Jean Tafler, and unfortunately there are quite some useless and boring scene's who could have easily been replaced with some more monster devastation. Though the ending is incredibly awesome and makes up for the boring scene's.

Spoilers:

I love the fact that the love interest gets her head eaten, I mean I didn't expect that to happen and it totally traumatized the man who loved her. I like what this movie was doing, I think if they remade/re-written some parts a little that this could have been a great movie but the budget I believe was holding it back a bit. I give it a solid 7/10.
