Anyone know what year Bill Murray first read 'The Razor's Edge'?
It says in the trivia section for the film that John Byrum gave Murray a copy of the novel, but doesn't say what year he did so. Does anyone know?

shareNot sure of that but does anyone know that Bill's movie deal at the time was for three movies and one of the three was his pick. The other two ended up being Gostbuster's 1 & 2 and The Rasor's Edge was his pick. Think he read the book when he was 21. Both the book and the first movie are great...this has been a favorite of mine for 20 years now and need to find a copy of it.

John gave the book to Bill's wife at the time, Mickey, when she was in the hospital giving birth to their first son, Homer. Bill then read the book and called Byrum. It was sometime around 1982, I believe. John Byrum was friends with both Bill and Mickey for several years prior to giving them the book. Mickey worked as John Byrum's assistant during the filming of the movie "Heart Beat" in the late 1970's.
