Watched it tonight for the first time in ages.

I used to love this film a lot as a kid and after seeing the new Muppets movie I decided to revisit The Muppets Take Manhattan. I must say the film still holds up very well and even as an adult I still found myself laughing quite a bit. I like how in a weird way the Muppets almost come across as actual people in this film. There are also some very cool cameos from some of the top celebrities of the time.

The ending wedding sequence is still very moving too. As a kid I remember it used to nearly make me cry. Also the actress who played Jenny was extremely cute.

I just did the same thing! The new film gave me some major nostalgia, so I rushed out and bought a box set! It had Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppets from Space, and Kermit's Swamp Years (which I've actually never seen).

It held up so well! I adored it. That wedding scene at the end almost brings tears to your eyes. I had also completely forgotten about the Sesame Street cameo and was surprised how awesome it was. Such a great movie :)

That's why the Muppets work so well. They exist in the world with humans, who adopt a flat attitude with them, like in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Also, notice that Elliot Gould made a cameo in this and Muppet Movie and a few of the guest stars were on Muppet Show, like Brooke Shields and Linda Lavin.
