Yuck
This is one of the worst adaptations of any Christie book EVER. The acting--aside from Hickson and the man who played Symmington--was atrocious. The hair and makeup was obviously 1985, and the woman who played Joanna was desperately bad.

shareReally? That's a shame - it's one my favourite Marple books, and I was planning on watching it. I know the dodgy hair/makeup can come with the territory, so that's workable - what was wrong with the actors?
sharefabulous acting, more or less on par with the other movies. I never read this book mind you.
shareIt is one of the best of the Joan Hickson 'Miss Marple' episodes - excellent acting from an extremely talented cast, and it sticks to the plot of the original novel. Highly recommended.
shareI particularly like this one in the series too. I like the shot of the apothecary scales just briefly seen behind the doctor's sister at one point. It looks as though the shadow of the scales of justice is threatening her. I also like the vicar's joke about his sermon. "Preparing the weekly sleeping pill."
