Fantastic movie but disappointed with the ending a little

License to Kill is another excellent courtroom drama

Denzel Washington was amazing as was the other lawyer.

The story revolves around drunk driving and the death of a young woman by it and the seeking of justice.

The story moves quick and the court scenes are quite engaging. The lawyers both do amazing to defend their client and the defense lawyers handling of the blood sample was really well done.

At the end however Denzels character brings out a trump card via bills and simple logic to prove inebriation.

The judge also spoke really well as well. People truly exuded class and a way of speaking that was eloquent and complete without having to say too much. Like the 2 wives conversing at the end.

The lone disappointment was the ridiculously small punishment imposed by the judge for a life taken. Especially when the prosecutor reminded her and asked for the fullest possible by law.

That robs the family because he’ll behave well and get out in less than half that time.

Basically that is injustice. IMO justice should be fair and not vengeful but meaningful. I think the min mandatory should be far more than that. Slapping with a token incarceration is bad by the judge. You can’t take high ground here.

What if the father does the same to the other guy. Wouldn’t he want him to be punished severely?

Overall it was great acting and great story and well made movie.

8.5/10
