Nice movie!
Watching it right now on Retroplex! Gorilla at the door... So far so good. I'll let you know what I think later.

I just watched it on Retroplex too! I've tried to watch this film for a while, so I set my alarm to wake up in the middle of the night to watch because it's NEVER on. I couldn't believe a gorilla was at the door, I said to my friend "I didn't know this was that kind of movie" and then it just turned out to be a singing telegram lol. What did you think of the movie?
shareIMHO this movie killed Alexandra Paul's career. What a vamp!
If one will focus on Kristy's character the story is great and complete entertainment;
but looking at the movie as a whole it was way too preachy with the added elements of other disabilities and had the forceful message of an Afterschool Special. That's it's downturn.
I found this on VHS at a thrift store for a buck, and it was money well spent. Kristy McNichol is always a joy to watch, and it's unfortunate her career became sidetracked. This occasionally veers into travelogue turf, and there are a few too many supporting characters and subplots, but it's pleasant entertainment for a rainy day. 7/10 stars from me.
