'Hold Me' song from Hot Dog

By far, this is my favorite movie and unfortunately I know there doesn't exist a soundtrack for it. DOes anybody have a copy of (or know how to get hold of a copy of) the song "Hold Me" ? It is performed by Clif Magness, music by Mark Goldenberg, and written by peter bernstein. It is the song that is played during the opening menu on the DVD and played throughout the movie about 3 times.

I would pay top $$$ to get hold of a copy of it.

ANy info you could provide would help.

Thanks

David

Well, I got hold of Mark Goldenberg(involved in the actual song itself) and he forwarded my request to Peter Bernstein(who wrote it) and Peter actually sent me the mp3 version of it. Talk about a cool guy.

Awesome. Thanks again Peter/Mark

That is totally cool and rare anymore. Futher proof the guys that made that movie were good people. That is a rad story.

Not to be a moochy bandwagoner, but I'd be so STOKED to get a copy of that file.

BTW, I posted this on another thread but thought it'd be appropriate on this one, too:

My votes for the two best songs in the movie:

1. The opening scene. "Top of the Hill" was written and performed by Clif Magnes. Clif is a legendary Hollywood music guy who has done a lot of soundtracks. He even has a few greatest hits CDs, none of which however include anything from Hot Dog. The only way I've been able to get ahold of the song was to use a program called Audio Hijack which allows you to rip an MP3 directly from a DVD.

2. The ski montage right after the whole "You can kiss my ass, not on zis side, not on zat side, but right in zee middle" exchange with Rudy. This is, believe it or not, Mitch Ryder (yes, THAT Mitch Ryder) covering Prince's 1980 hit, "When You Were Mine". It was included on Mitch's 1983 comeback album titled, "Never Kick a Sleeping Dog", which was actually produced by John Mellencamp. It was a minor hit on rock radio but didn't reinvigorate Mitch's career like he'd hoped. He has pretty much been in Europe ever since. You can hear a lengthy clip of it at Mitch's website at http://mitchryder.net/music/mine.rm Or you can simply use Audio Hijack and kick the song off with Dan O'Callahan telling the Rat Pack, "C'mon!" as they charge down the hill. If none of those options work for you, I found a vinyl copy of the single on eBay for $4.

Hey, man. Did you ever get the Mitch Ryder song? I found it on Morpheus and would gladly give it to you. I am also searching for Top of the Hill...any help?

Hey dabudguy. Wondering if you still have the Mitch Ryder song "when you were mine"? I'd love to get it from you. I tried to get it on Morpheus but couldn't figure it out. My e-mail is [email protected]

I have found a few of the tracks from the soundtrack but this is one that is definitely hard to come by. "Rudi's Drinking Song" and "Top of the Hill" are the other two I can't find online. Thanks in advance!

Hi Steve,

I just forwarded you the mp3 file. We are probably the only two people in the world with this mp3.

Yeah, it's a great story about how i tracked it down.
It just goes to show that not all of these hollywood guys are snobs.

It is the beginning of "Hungry Like The Wolf" by Duran Duran. It's on the Rio album. It should be pretty easy to find.

reply

It is Hungry Like the Wolf by Duran Duran but the specific version used in the movie is not on the Rio album. One needs to find "night version" of Hungry Like the Wolf

Banff or one of the other fans,

Could I be the latest person to request a copy of the Hold Me mp3? I'm a huge Hot Dog fan. I own the DVD and I think I could recite the entire movie line-by-line. I even spent a day on KT-22 at Squaw trying to locate exact scene locations.

Thanks! Please send to [email protected]

What was that song Harkin sang to Sunny in the beginning of the movie? I remember a line of it, something like:

We were dreamers in the wind...

I remember thinking that was a good song, but never hear any chat about that one...
