Betrayals in the film - Spoilers
*** Spoiler ***
I liked this film, but there are at least two betrayals which may not be obvious to everyone. One is by Sir Evelyn, as he makes back for the ship and abandon's D'Arnot in the jungle. That D'Arnot would be so cordial to him when he meets him again at the Greystoke mansion really confounds me.

The other was by Captain Billings. Billings was the captain of the ship that had crashed on the coast and left the Claytons shipwrecked. Per Jack Clayton Billings had gone in search of help and Jack assumed he died in the attempt. However, D'Arnot meets him at Buller's tavern in the African village. Evidently, D'Arnot didn't know Billings was the captain of the crashed ship of some 20 years earlier and had evidently abandoned the idea of getting help for the Claytons, perhaps from embarrassment of crashing his ship and being unable to face British maritime authority.
The film might have been enhanced had these betrayals been played up more.
