Who is this character?

In this movie there is another "Tarzan-like" person. He's seen in several scenes including the dancing lesson scene and he's also the one to find the hurt grandfather first and goes and gets Tarzan.

Can anyone tell me who this is? Was he in the book? I don't think they explain about him in the movie.

I wondered that too. I don't know. A bit strange it was, to see him cowering by the stairs.

No, this character was not in any of Edgar Rice Burroughs' novels. Why the writers, producers, director, whoever, decided it was necessary to add this character is beyond me. In fact, I don't know why they felt it necessary to deviate from the novel at all; IMO the changes they made were rather meaningless from a storytelling standpoint.

Also, as the character appeared to be developmentally challenged, I would describe him as "child-like" rather than "Tarzan-like".

a true mistery indeed, who the fkuc was that guy?

reply

I think they put him in the movie to help Tarzan relate in the modern world. Also Tarzan was able to witness more of the cruelty of this new world when the guy was playing with the car and was being beaten.
