In the real Greystoke

I don't remember ever seeing a tourist in Greystoke mentioning Tarzan, despite all the time I've spent in the pub there (which has a selection of Tarzan film posters along a wall).

Just thought that I'd mention it.

Do you mean the village in Cumbria? That has nothing to do with Greystoke in the story, which is fictional. I suspect the pub is just capitalising on the name. In the movie, Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire was the filming location for the mansion, with a couple other stately homes in England for the interiors.

Actually it does have a little to do with the story - apparently Edgar Rice Burroughs knew or met whichever Howard it was living in the castle at the time and liked the name Greystoke, so used it. The name therefore does come from the village although it's not supposed to be that Greystoke.
