Anybody read the books?

Just finished the first one now I am working through the second and the third should be with me by the time I am done with the second.

What is your comment on the books? Should it be made into films?

reply

i've only read the first four or five Tarzan novels. IMO the first three are the best ones and i could easily see those turned into a film trilogy.

I wished that it already was made into a movie.

Don't stop with Tarzan. Read EVERYTHING ERB wrote. I actually prefer his Martian books.

I read all 24 of ERB's adult Tarzan novels (there are also some intended for younger readers). Some are potboilers, but several, particularly early in the series, are terrific. In addition, there's ERB's book "The Eternal Lover", also known as "The Eternal Savage", which is about a different character, but in which Tarzan has a small role.

Burroughs was a fantastic writer. I love his Tarzan stories. I've never read his science fiction, but will certainly be doing so in the near future!

I actually prefer some of the more outlandish crazy Tarzan adventures that came later on in the series. Never liked the first book at all.

You mean the one with Joe Lara? I liked that too, I was sad that there was no full fledge Jane added to it just the mentioning of her name, a voice of hers and a covered figure in one episode.

reply

No, I don't read books
