Ruining Basil Poledouris's music.

Because I love the original soundtrack of Conan the Barbarian, hearing it get butchered for this sequel was painful.

I wonder how much Poledouris actually contributed because only the main theme is new while the rest of the soundtrack is just poorly rearranged music from the first film.

The original movie had scenes and music perfectly intertwined. In Destroyer, they use bits of tracks without context. As an exemple, In Conan The Barbarian, "The Wheel of Pain" played while young Conan was brought to said wheel where he slowly got stronger. Until the reveal he was now a huge man pushing the wheel alone. The track was a slow build up until the music swelled with trumpets at the perfect moment. In Destroyer, Conan and Bombaata lift a stone door, and the theme plays for like 20 seconds.

The worst part has to be the first fight scene, the track changes like 5 times in just 3 minutes.

The choppy edits and awkward transitions in the music definitely stood out. Particularly since I saw the first movie days before.

They also shamelessly re-used "The Orgy" in the scene where Olivia D'Abo's character is about to get sacrificed by the lady from Superman II.
