Kim an Davey arent real

Okay i've watched this movie several times an never noticed this before, as soon as they leave for their adventure Morris starts typing an the screen says GAME START, so I think the whole movie is just a role playing game that Morris has been working on in his computer, an everything that happens is within his game.

I noticed the "GAME START" also. And it makes sense to make the story a story, that eliminates its logical problems.

But then the question would be, if they're not real, in what realm do they exist? Are they Morris's imaginary friends? Are they Tron-like whatzits inside a computer? Is Davey a virtual realilty character that Morris experiences, and Kim is a character in his game?

There must be many realm scenarios for this.

I think Morris based Davey on himself when he was a kid, an Kim was probably a neighbor or maybe girl he liked at that age

Including Morris's own death at the hands of Rice?

Yes that does rule out the virtual reality thing. If it was all a game, then Morris would not have been killed since Rice wouldn't be real either.

The game-of the same name of the movie was actually a tie in product in the movie. There was actually a video game-though I understand it wasn't released for some reason. The movie was intended to promote the game.

You may think that but I couldn't possibly comment--Francis Urquhart

If Morris was being somebody else in the game, like Jack Flack or Davey, then the Morris within the game can get killed. And Maybe Morris secretly hated himself and fantasized being one of the others. In fact, maybe that's what the game was all about.

Excellent theory-- I can totally see that now. Or the fact that Kim and Davey are real people but then they become players in Morris' game/fantasy world.

So: a realistic, down to earth show..which is completely off the wall swarming with magic robots?!
