Enjoyable right up to the revelation (no spoilers)
The earlier part of the movie right up to the revelation is terrific vintage de Palma: dream-like, long scenes with no dialog, great use of score, suspenseful, alluring, mysterious, all the great things you like about de Palma films. After the revelation, the film becomes a conventional catching-the-bad-guy storyline, and it has none of the appeal from earlier. It's too bad the terrific Melanie Griffith performance occurs only in the latter portion.
