Power-drilling scene any good?

It gets mentioned in the book American Psycho, where the main character rents the movie 17 time just for that scene. So yeah, I'm a crazy ****, but that this movie actually existed made me kinda curious. Is that scene graphic or what? Also, would the movie be worth $10 as a blind-buy?

I can let you know the movie is worth the 10 bucks

it's bloody awful (dreadful to empathize about)...also, I have to wonder in 1984 how the emergency operator did not hear the racket and just send a car. That's a lot of anguish and noise to be a practical joke call.

With the awful wounds soldiers suffer now during combat that medics do manage to pull together, I wondered this time for the first time (haven't seen the movie in quite a while) if the wound was absolutely fatal.

Then I realized the color of the blood was no accident and that the killer probably went for a major organ, not just an incredibly awful exit wound.

The drill going through the floor and spattering blood while Jake was fighting the dog was both hilarious and creepy to me.

he stands over her with his legs spread and you see him from behind as the large drill bit very slowly comes down from his crotch. I'm not freud but I think it was supposed to represent his weiner

The scene is laughably cheesy. The guys makeup is so visible it took me right out of the movie.

I don't buy the misogyny idea but this is pure dePalma with this scene strongly reminding me of the Scarface chainsaw torture scene (with a male victim).

Yes.

Totally giallo. Argento could not have done it better. The woman is getting screwed, literally, several time over whilst a dog is chewing his neck, like the vampire he's been cast to play! It's so clever.

No matter.
