And you manage to knock him out, don't run out of the house and go to a neighbor's house for help. Slowly get up and turn your back to him and start fumbling with the phone until he comes to.

Nope, jump turnback kick, then once more when he's down, and run for it. Or, if you can think of it, grab your gun and plug the dude.
