Real age of actors in this

Ronny Cox was 45 in this but to me he looked closer to 60, maybe 57-58

And Taggert was 36 at the time but to me appeared closer to 50, maybe 45-47

Steven Berkoff was also 45 during filming, but to me looked mid 50s

Not sure why this is, but often actors from old films looked way older than they actually are. Its a noticeable trend.

Also Eddie Murphy was actually just 23 in this but was supposed to be a veteran detective with a few years experience. I guess he was meant to appear to be late 20s or right at 30. Yeah I thought that came off realistic.

No point to this thread, really. I just notice these odd little details in films sometimes.

Good point and your age assessments seem quite accurate. I noticed it while watching Unsolved Mysteries re-runs. People in the 80s just seemed way older than they were.

Certain looks as far as hair styles and fashion became linked with being old and people who wore those looks aged. And then there is the fact that healthcare, standards of living, and the choices people make have improved over the years and people tend to live longer and healthier lives now.

Over the past 20 years, the biological age of the U.S. population seems to have decreased for males and females across the age range. However, the degree of change has not been the same for men and women or by age. Our results showed that young males experienced greater improvements than did young females.

This finding may explain why early adult mortality has decreased more for males than females, contributing to a narrowing of the gender mortality gap. Additionally, improvements were also larger for older adults than they were for younger adults.

I don´t think choices have necessarily improved. Obesity rates pretty much sky-rocketed everywhere since then.
