When Mozart's son is older, Constanze tells him of how Salieri propositioned her, and then refused her, and also kept Mozart from the job with the emperor. And, also how Salieri was found sleeping in Mozart's son's bed on the morning of Mozart's death, helping him to write what was killing him. Additionally, how later she realized it was Salieri's eyes, and voice through the black mask, and Salieri who commissioned the Requiem. The maid is stricken with guilt and also admits to Constanze that Mozart was poisoned as well. After finding out it was the jealous Salieri all along who kept them from success in Vienna, and killed his father, Mozart's son sets out to toy with, poison, and slowly destroy Salieri's and his children, leaving a trail of fabricated evidence at Salieri's dwelling that points to him poisoning Mozart, ruining his reputation forever. It's sort of Count of Monte Cristo meets Hannibal. :-)
