Such an excellent movie but...

Are there any plans to release the original cut of the film on Blu-Ray as of yet??? The Director's Cut is the only one I've seen and I could definitely see losing that extra 20 minutes helping the film's pace significantly. Not really sure why the *beep* they couldn't put out both....rude.

I had the VHS of the theatrical version... and then 'upgraded' to the DVD, not knowing there was a difference. There were additional scenes, including the one where Constanza goes topless in front of Salieri. I hated that. It really ruined the film for me.

See I'd prefer something in between...the added stuff with Constanza actually helps the film cuz it explains her disgust with his presence at the end of the film with Mozart. But, that's only about 5-10 minutes extra...the remaining 10-15 minutes that's added in the director's cut is pretty useless.

The brief toplessness did not ruin the film for me: rather it gave me the impression of fitting perfectly, 1) to show how far Stanze would go for Wolfie and
2) how much a bastard Salieri really was (in the drama, not real life) - first for insisting that Stanze come to him for sex, allow her to undress in front of him, and then cruelly ring for the servant to escort her out. A great savage scene and very revealing of both characters.
